PROGRAMS & SERVICES I. Refugee Employment & Skills Training Program (RTW): (Serving refugees who have ben in the U.S. 5 years or less) Job Development and Placement Employment Assessment and Development Plan Application and Resume Assistance Job Coaching and Counseling Interpretation and Translation Services On-the-Job Training Skills Training Supportive Services to Employees and Employers Referrals and Follow-ups II. Refugee Outreach Program Interpretation and Translation Information and Referrals Short-term Counseling Crisis Intervention/Problem Solving Home Visits/Outreach Services Educational Workshops Family and Youth Programs III. Refugee Orientation Program The goal of the Refugee Orientation Program is to ensure a successful resettlement experience for the newly arrived refugees. These refugees will receive a comprehensive orientation in seven areas to make sure that they can integrate and perform successfully in this country. The seven areas to be covered are: World of Work Education/School System for Children & Adults Health & Mental Health Housing & Home Management Financial Management/Literacy Legal System Parenting & Childcare Options IV. Older Refugee Program The purpose of The Older Refugee Program is to provide educational and recreational activities for limited-English speaking elderly refugees to increase their knowledge on the community where they live and improve their health and mental awareness. The following are some of the activities provided: English or ESL classes Citizenship classes Short-term counseling Educational Workshops Interpretation/Translation services Community Tours and Field Trips Supportive Services These services are free of charge. V. Family Care Program The Family Care program is funded by the United Way and City Block Grant. The goal of the project is to provide linguistically and culturally appropriate case management services to Limited English Proficient (LEP) Hmong families. The Family Care Coordinator will collaborate with local United Way funded agencies to ensure that resources are assessable and appropriate for the needs of the Hmong community. Services include, but not limited to: Short-term counseling Interpretation/Translation services Housing & Home Management Financial Literacy Information and Referrals Crisis Intervention/Problem Solving Home Visits/Outreach Services Educational Workshops Family and Youth Programs VI. Health Educational Project: Health Interpretation/Translation Health Educational Workshops Short-term Health Counseling Information and Referrals Cultural Education to Providers Home Visits and Outreach Bilingual Health Resource Center Other Programs: "Qeej" Class Immigration services Student Loans Community Garden Project Hmong Radio—WSHS, FM 91.7 Public Education Newsletter Summer Festival Hmong New Year Celebration July 4th Parade Hmong Cultural Information |
