III.  Refugee Orientation Program

The goal of the Refugee Orientation Program is to ensure a successful resettlement
experience for the newly arrived refugees.  These refugees will receive a
comprehensive orientation in seven areas to make sure that they can integrate and
perform  successfully in this country.

The seven areas to be covered are:

World of Work
Education/School System for Children & Adults
Health & Mental Health
Housing & Home Management
Financial Management/Literacy
Legal System
Parenting & Childcare Options


IV.  Career & Business Development Program

The Career & Business Development Program is      established to assist the Hmong
community to provide education, small business assistance, career counseling, and
short-term training programs as well as assisting with resume development and job
searching skills.

The following are some of the services provided:
Vocational ESL classes
Citizenship classes
Entrepreneur counseling
Career Counseling & Job Advancement
Short-term training
Interpretation/Translation services
Basic Computer Skills Training


These services are free of charge.  Our goal is to create opportunities for Hmong or
Asian refugees to become self-sufficient.  


V.  Family Care Program

The Family Care program is funded by the United Way to provide linguistically and
culturally appropriate case management services to Limited English Proficient (LEP)
Hmong families.  The Family Care Coordinator will collaborate with local United Way
funded agencies to ensure that resources are assessable and appropriate for the
needs of the Hmong community.
